ESOL Testing
From February 17 through March 20, the ESOL team will be administering an English language proficiency test to all ESOL students in grades K-5. The name of the test is ACCESS for ELLs® and it assesses reading, writing, speaking, and listening in English.
This test is used by a consortium of nineteen states and meets the requirements of NCLB for yearly testing of ESOL students. The consortium of states is referred to as the WIDA Consortium, and you can find more information on the website www.wida.us

PEP Classes
All ESOL parents are welcome to attend free Parents as Educational Partners (PEP) classes! You will learn important information about the school system and you will learn more English. Registration for PEP classes is Thursday February 19, 2009 (3:30-7:PM) at Kilby.
